Local production is an important part of the introductory process of the CooKit, WAPI and hay basket. By producing locally instead of importing:

• cost is lower;
• people do not depend on the initiators;
• economic independence is promoted.

It does mean that the items below have to be procured:

• 4-litre lightweight aluminium pan, painted flat black (with blackboard paint);
• heat-resistant plastic bags (the lid of the pan can get very hot: 140°C);
• small storage bag (an unfolded CooKit is often damaged by termites or goats);
• cardboard and aluminium foil;
• clothespins and pieces of string.
